This real-photo view of the Baptist Church was postmarked from Salem at 4 p.m. on June 21, 1921, but, as with the previous view of the high school, the photograph might have been taken a decade earlier: compare the height of the tree on the corner to its size in the C. U. Williams real-photo view postmarked 1907. I'm no expert on tree growth, but I'd guess there might a couple or three years between the two pictures. There is no indication of who took the picture or published the card, but the handwriting of the inked caption on the front (above) shows several similarities to the script captions written on the backs of the high school, Deer Park, Stone House, and Beck's Mill Bridge cards. Compare the exaggerated upstroke on the "p" in "Baptist", the curlicue on the "C" in "Church," and the capital "I" in "Ind." The card was addressed to Mrs. R. W. Seat, 621 W. Main St., Lebanon, Tennessee, and the message reads, "We have had a most refreshing rain that has cooled off things and started the garden growing again. We are well and OK. Much love to you all.
