This photograph of the Christian Church was taken from a few steps to the right of the viewpoint in the Red Back series view of the church, and a year or two later, judging from the growth of the trees. That would date the photo to about 1910. The card belongs to the Weixelbaum Bros. Co. series, published in the mid- to late 1910s (it is numbered "K 1028" along the left edge of the back), but wasn't mailed until May 21, 1949. The message, which sounds as if the card was sent in a card-club exchange, offers some explanation:
It's addressed to Mrs. Freda Raynor of Red Bank, New Jersey, and it reads, "Hello -- Glad to hear from you. I sure do like that kind of card. It's on the list of cards I want. This card is sorta old but the church is still there. We were married in the house next to it but I'm not sure if it's the one pictured here or not. If so it's been remodeled & built onto since this was made. Bye -- Kathie." (4/24/01)
