This card, also made by the Art Mfg. Co., Amelia, O., is numbered 719. It is postmarked from Salem at 3 p.m. on December 11, 1908.

The view to the north on South Main Street is the same photograph used for the "Photoette" view of South Main. It carries the same caption, "South Main Street, Salem, Ind., 1790," that is inked onto the negative of the real-photo version of this card. (This half-tone printed card does not appear to have been taken directly from the real-photo card, however -- no trace of the inked-in caption can be seen in the half-tone image.)

The light blue sky is a tint block overprinted over a black-and-white view -- the blue ink carries over the buildings and trees, as well as the sky area of the card. (12/30/00)
