Another card in the "Red Back" set. This view of the "M.E. Church, Salem, Indiana" was postmarked from Salem at 4 p.m. on May 13, 1911. The card is addressed to Mr. Silas Huckelbery, R. #1, Guitman, Mo. While it is unsigned, the penmanship, uncertain spelling, and general tenor of the message point to a young correspondent. It reads:

"Hello. Will ans. your card rec. last week. There isn't anyone here that knows who it is from. I fuled them all. The stamp wasn't marked. Papa has 18 acres of corn planted and more to plant. Guess Who."

The most interesting feature of the card is the overprinting of the caption into the picture. All the other cards in this series are captioned in the blank band below the image. A caption there has been blacked out by a turned rule. Close inspection reveals why: It misidentifies the structure as "Baptist Church, Salem, Ind." The Baptist Church card returns the favor.
