This Salem landmark came and went in a hurry. "Come as you are -- no parking worries when you stay in the driver's seat at FARMERS-CITIZENS MOTOR BANK, Corner West Market & Water Sts. SALEM, INDIANA" says the back of this card. It's postmarked from Salem February 3, 1962.

Look for the silhouette of a teller behind the glass window. Later on the live people were replaced by pneumatic tubes, then the name "Farmers-Citizens" was replaced, and finally the whole motor bank went away. Perhaps it was a victim of the walk-up ATM machine. Or maybe it was the fact that it really isn't that hard to find a parking place most of the time in Salem, anyway.

On the back the card is numbered M2842, "Litho Henry McGrew Printing, K.C. 8, Mo." and the photo is credited to Al Green Duo-Tone, Clarksville, Ind. (12/22/00)
